Join a growing eco-system of practitioners who use the “art of scribing” to bridge the ecological, social, and spiritual divides we experience in our world today. Scribing – a process of drawing while people talk – provides a mirror that can help a system see itself in new light. With intention to build navigational capacity for the rapidly changing times in which we we live, this program will focus on:
- Activating intelligences of the Open Mind, Heart, and Will
- Deepening practice of a visual sense-making discipline
- Cultivating knowledge of social technologies
We will cover aspects of Presencing, System and Conversational diagnostics, Four Levels of Listening, Generative Scribing, Discernment for ‘Letting Go and Letting Come’, 2D Modeling, Project Planning, and shared Applications of this work in a variety of contexts. The learning process will involve presentations, hands-on practice, peer-to-peer reflections, and large group conversations.

Drawing will be our primary form of practice. You do not have to be a skilled scribe – but be prepared to use visual expression as the main method of practice during the program.

Kelvy Bird has been scribing in organizational and social contexts since 1995, translating spoken word and human dynamics into visual, tangible formats that aid in seeing, reflection, and decision-making. Aaron Williamson creates collaborative solutions for complex issues that involve diverse stakeholders with a common, urgent need for change. Through process design, graphical modeling and graphic facilitation, he enables groups to distill a broad range of issues into actionable outcomes. Aaron studied Sociology at Queen’s University in Kingston, with a specialization in hacking, hacker culture, information security and social relationships with technology. He earned his shodan grade in Aikido in while studying in Kyoto, Japan. Aaron is a member of the board of The Value Web.
Reilly Dow is a scribe working in English and Spanish, based in Mexico City. She completed an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies and has supported a broad range of teams and organizations using visual facilitation since 2008. More

The registration fee includes: supplies, course materials, lunch and two snack breaks each day. Breakfasts and dinners would be self-organized. Participants are also responsible for their own transportation and hotel accomodations.
Refund Policy: The amount paid minus a $350 processing fee will be refunded for all cancellations received in writing before March 1, 2018. No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after that time, but registrations can be transferred to other participants at no additional cost. The Organizer is not liable for an event cancellation due to sickness, riots, epidemics, or acts of god.
